Disclaimers – Income, Content, and Philosophical

Advertising and Affiliate Programs

Hey, full transparency here: we’ve got some ads (Google AdSense) and affiliate links (Amazon Associates) on the site. If you click through and make a purchase, it helps support the blog, but let’s not pretend we’re retiring on this.

For example: Someone bought a $525 piece of hardware through our Amazon link, and we earned about $25 (Amazon’s standard commission rate is usually less than 4%). Most of the time, though, purchases are closer to $20, so the payoff is, well... modest.

Sponsored Content & Product Reviews

If you want to send us cool stuff—money, swag, products to test—we’re open to it. Just know that we’ll be upfront about any arrangements before sharing our review (we believe in "disclose first, deposit later").

Life Lessons and Stories

A lot of the stories you’ll find here come from friends, family, and coworkers. Names and details get sanitized to protect the innocent... and sometimes the guilty.

Content Crediting Policy

We’re big believers in giving credit where it’s due. If we reference or borrow something, we’ll credit, link, and cite the original creator. All our content follows a Creative Commons license (check the link at the bottom of the page). Aggregation bots? Not our vibe.

Author Background & Disclaimers

The author’s been around the block—Microsoft, Emerson, BISYS/Citibank, Gap, Charles Schwab, Cognizant, Alorica, and a bunch of other insurance and finance gigs. That said, the opinions on this blog are purely my own.

If something raises an eyebrow, feel free to check with your lawyer, CPA, professor, dentist, pastor, priest, veterinarian, or any other responsible adult.

Guest authors contributing to this blog bring a wealth of experience from a variety of industries. Their insights and opinions shared here are entirely their own. While we value their perspectives, readers are encouraged to verify and cross-reference any information presented with their own trusted resources.

Accessibility Note

Heads up: This blog isn’t exactly geared toward kids or those who prefer spoon-fed content. We keep it witty and a little sharp, so just bear that in mind.
