Federal DEI vs. State HUB Programs
It is not clear if the new Executive Order that ends Federal funding for DEI programs
could impact companies with Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) certifications.
Focus of the Orders
The primary target of these orders is to eliminate DEI initiatives within federal agencies
themselves.
The Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) program is primarily focused
on increasing contracting opportunities for businesses owned by minorities, women,
veterans, and people with disabilities within the state of Texas.
Indirect HUB Impacts Possibilities
Reduced Federal Funding: If federal funding for programs that support minority-owned
businesses is significantly cut, it could indirectly impact the overall economic
environment for Texas HUB providers.
Changes in Federal Contracting: Shifts in federal contracting priorities or policies could
have some ripple effects
Recommendation: Keep Calm, Carry On
